The kindergarten to grade 3 Ojibway Language Program is a rich, seasonal journey that fosters a deep connection between children, language, and the natural world around them. Through daily 40-minute lessons and weekly time spent outside, students are introduced to the Ojibway language in ways that are grounded in the rhythms of nature and the cycles of the year. The program places strong emphasis on observing the land\u2014listening to the birds, watching the trees change, tracking animals, and learning names for weather, plants, and animals as they appear in real time. These experiences help students naturally absorb vocabulary and phrases while building respect for the world around them.<\/p>

The program also integrates stories, songs, games, and creative centers to help learners explore the language through play, movement, and imagination. Each month introduces seasonal themes and traditional teachings, like harvesting various earth items respectfully or animal legends in winter, allowing students to build their language skills alongside cultural knowledge.
